Roswell Recreation “Needs Assessment” Survey Posted

The City of Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department is currently revising the City’s Recreation Master Plan and would like for Roswell households to participate in a brief survey. The questionnaire is located online at www.roswellgov.com/recreationsurvey <http://www.roswellgov.com/recreationsurvey> . The survey will give residents the opportunity to give us their thoughts regarding facilities, programs and services within the Recreation and Parks Department.  The last Recreation Master Plan was completed for the 2000-2010 time period. The City of Roswell is conducting the survey this year, utilizing in-house staff and hosting it on the City’s website. Only one online questionnaire is permitted per IP Address. Printed copies will be available at Community Activity Buildings in the parks. If you encounter problems, please call 770.641.3705.

Meetings Planned

The City of Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department is currently revising the City’s Comprehensive System-wide Recreation and Parks Master Plan and would like for Roswell citizens to participate in one of four public input meetings. The upcoming public input meetings are scheduled as follows:

Thursday, September 9 at 10 a.m. at the Bill Johnson Community Activity Building in Roswell Area Park (10495 Woodstock Road)

Thursday, September 9 at 7 p.m. at the East Roswell Recreation Center in East Roswell Park (9000 Fouts Road)

Tuesday,  September 14 at 10 a.m. at the East Roswell Recreation Center in East Roswell Park (9000 Fouts Road)

Tuesday, September 14 at 7 p.m. at the Bill Johnson Community Activity Building in the Roswell Area Park (10495 Woodstock Road)

These meetings will allow Roswell residents the opportunity to give their input regarding facilities, programs and services they would like to see the Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department develop within the next 10 years. The last update to the Recreation and Parks Master Plan was completed for the 2000-2010 time period.  The Department has been operating under an approved Master Plan since 1968. Currently residents can complete a Needs Assessment Survey online at www.roswellgov.com/recreationsurvey <http://www.roswellgov.com/recreationsurvey> . The information gathered from the survey and the public hearings will be incorporated into a draft Master Plan document.  A follow up public meeting will be held to allow citizens an opportunity to review the draft Master Plan document before approval by the Recreation Commission and Mayor and City Council.
